Farewell my loving faithful knight

your heart was purest gold,

run free again and join the wind

where spirits don't grow old.

I'm proud you let me share your life

I'm pained to see it end,

For fourteen years through joy and tears

you were my greatest friend.

You lived a grand adventurous life

walked iceburgs cold and blue,

And saw the blazing Northern Lights

and met a moose or two.

You've seen the Cascade Mountain Range

and hunted there with me.

You've smelled Alaska's tundra flowers

and sailed the Bering Sea.

You've walked the ocean beaches

and you swam in lakes of blue,

You've challenged mighty rivers

and loved the children too.

So wait for me behind the moon

that's where I plan to be,

when my turn comes to ride the wind

Through all eternity.

Farewell my faithful loving friend

you've given life your best,

And as dogs go, for all to know...

You were a cut above the rest.
